Glitter
Photo Diary
Design: Saman Khosravi
55 editions, Tehran

«Glitter» is a photo diary book designed by my childhood companion, Saman. After I moved to Toronto last year, we reconnected online and began thinking of ways to collaborate across distance. We came up with the idea of publishing a book together as our first project.
The photobook documents my daily walks to the studio through a constantly evolving Legoland — a place under endless construction, where multiple timelines overlap. Passing by windows and mirrors that reflect fragments of oneself and the sky, the interior and the surroundings, led to an archive of thousands of photos capturing everything and nothing.
The diary includes a selection from this archive, alongside lines from song lyrics, quotes from friends, and the exact date and time of each image — emphasizing Saman’s interest in the concept of time. «Glitter» is an attempt to hold onto fleeting moments of daily life, to place a sparkle on numbness, to find flickers of light on water, and to reclaim what is often dismissed as waste.
The book was independently published in Tehran in an edition of 55 copies.

The book was first presented as part of a duo installation at Amanatdari (Rasht, Iran) in early May 2025. The installation included two paintings by Shahrzad, orchids, lighting, editions of the book, and a metal sculptural piece by Saman — all coming together as a reflection of their artistic dialogue and a spatial extension of the book’s themes.

The book is currently available at Bazaarketab (Tehran), and will soon be featured at Miss Read: The Berlin Art Book Festival.
